Mission Statement | Board of Directors Mission Statement We provide financial assistance to children with cancer, and their families, living on the Treasure Coast. Who We Are Celebrities Fore Kids, Inc. is an independent non-profit organization established in December 1997 in the State of Florida. We are a charitable organization under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service. Our Board of Directors, committees and volunteers are composed of individuals from very diverse backgrounds. The Purpose of Celebrities Fore Kids, Inc. The purpose of Celebrities Fore Kids, Inc. is to improve the quality of life for children with cancer, and their families, who live on the Treasure Coast of Florida. Presently pediatric oncology services are not available in the Treasure Coast. To further this purpose, the organization works closely with agencies, physicians, schools, hospitals and pediatric care centers. Our goal is to offer financial, emotional, and social support to these children and their families. Who Will Benefit Children with cancer and adults with cancer who provide for children up to 18 years old, residing on the Treasure Coast will benefit. Once a child is diagnosedwith cancer, one parent usually has to leave their job to care for the child. The most important goal for these children is to survive one day at a time. Our assistance gives immediate help. Who Has Benefited Celebrities Fore Kids, Inc. works in conjunction with the teams at POST (Pediatric Oncology Support Team) a program of The Parent-Child Care Center, Inc. (formerly The Child Life Institute) located in West Palm Beach and the Robert & Carol Weissman Cancer Center at Martin Memorial Hospital in Stuart. Through our partnerships, we offer financial assistance for transportation to and from treatment centers, non-covered medical and prescription expenses, rent or mortgage payments, auto payments and maintenance, gift cards for food and clothing, daily living expenses such as phone and electric and individual and/or family counseling. Our expanded mission has allowed us to develop the first social worker fund at the Robert & Carol Weissman Cancer Centerat Martin Memorial Hospital in Stuart. This is a first in the community. Community Support For over a decade we have developed a strong base of community support along the Treasure Coast. Business professionals, social workers, investment companies, the Martin Memorial Health System, The Robert and Carol Weissman Cancer Center at Martin Memorial Hospital, The Parent-Child Care Center, Inc. (formerly The Child Life Institute), and individuals from all walks of life have contributed their time and financialsupport. Their efforts help ensure that children with cancer and children of parents with cancer living on the Treasure Coast are given assistance whenever possible. Annual Fund Raiser The Larry Laoretti and Gary Carter Celebrities Fore Kids Golf Classic has become one of the areas most prestigious golfing events. Together Larry Laoretti and Gary Carter recruit an impressive list of sports celebrities to play with each foursome.
